INTRODUCTION

Riverstone Partners is a boutique real estate company involved in real estate development. Since it’s formation in 1999, Riverstone Partners has developed retail, professional office, condominium and single family projects. What makes Riverstone Partners unique?

While its owners had prior careers in executive management with large companies, today at Riverstone Partners they provide “hands on” management of each project. Riverstone Partners not only creates the vision for each project but also watches over the smallest of details and manages the overall project. The owners, John Bontreger and Mark Carney, combine for over 60 years of business experience. For 21 years Mr. Bontreger was CEO and Chairman of a public company involved in real estate development and management. Mr. Carney was a senior member with one of the “big five” public accounting firms for 12 years where he managed the real estate practice; and then seven years as the CFO of a public company. Their areas of expertise include: real estate development, new company capitalization, marketing, executive management, financial analysis, valuation and finance. This depth of experience combined with the “hands on” approach to each project makes Riverstone truly unique. The name Riverstone symbolizes their business experience. A riverstone is a stone that has been weathered, smoothed and perfected over the test of time.

BUSINESS APPROACH AND PHILOSOPHY

With Christian values as its reference point, Riverstone Partners engages in projects that not only make sense from a business viewpoint but that also contribute to the overall improvement and benefit of mankind. It is a goal of the company to be a positive influence on everyone that is involved in its projects and that it comes into contact with. Riverstone Partners believes in simplicity in its deal structures, will only partner with investors that are highly respected individuals, and carefully selects reputable firms to provide outside services. On a project by project basis, Riverstone Partners contracts with outside firms for a significant amount of needed services thereby allowing internal resources to be focused on the overall management of each project. This “hands on” management approach has allowed the company to minimize its overhead and therefore has contributed to the company maintaining its viability and profitability.
